So, this is an idea I've been toying with for a while. Ever since I found out that Brad and I are expecting a baby, in fact! I wanted some record of what I was experiencing during pregnancy, and my "What to Expect..." pregnancy journal just wasn't cutting it. You'd be wise to ask me why I waited so long to start writing. My answer is two-fold. First, my bathroom is not equipped with word processing capabilities or internet access, and that's where I spent the majority of my time early on in this experience. Morning sickness is a stupid, stupid name for something that happens 24 hours a day, seven days a week, but more about that later. My second reason for holding off on this blog, was the fear that it would bring about the end of human existence. I'm the first of my close friends to get knocked up, I and I was seriously worried that sharing the details of it all as they were happening would scare the friends into never wanting to reproduce. My stories are the kind of thing that could cause a serious run on condoms and spermicide, if you know what I mean.
But now I'm sitting pretty at 19 weeks, and feeling considerably better. I can look back on first trimester, and while I know it was awful, I can kind of convince myself that I might want to do it again some time. I guess time really does heal all wounds. Even the ones caused by stomach acid erosion to the esophagus.
So anyhoo, for now, this is my place to talk about being all knocked up. In about 5 months, it will be the place where I post a lot of pictures of our (hopefully) adorable child. I hope that I can give you a little insight into the process that you might not see on Baby Story.

I'm so glad you decided to start this! And good call on choosing to make your commenters do a word-verification to post. I've seen a lot of "I find your blog interesting and amusing. Please visit my website at blah blah and buy things" comments lately.
Yay for babies!

Congrats!!!! I am so happy for you and Brad. You look gorgeous, dah-ling! Thanks for sending me the link to your blog. Can't wait to see your ever-expanding belly and then the new addition; it's a beautiful thing. :)
